Description:

This module forces a linear data entry workflow across REDCap forms and events. The linear workflow is enforced by removing access to any form which does not immediately follow the last completed form. In this way, if a user has not filled out the first form, they cannot proceed to the second (or and subsequent) form. This module can be configured at the project level to exclude some forms from these rules.

Limitations:

Works only on data entry forms, NOT relative to surveys.

The Mobile app does not utilize this External Module and is unaffected by any of its settings.

 

Notes:

Configured from within External Modules under Applications. Entry is not seen under the External Modules section.

Forms Exceptions section does not recognize numerals in form names.

 

Testing:

External Modules are NOT part of the standard REDCap support package. Therefore, REDCap upgrades may impact this functionality; there is potential for a REDCap upgrade to break the module configuration for your project(s). Therefore, we ask that you test your module with every REDCap upgrade and please send an email to help-redcap@bmi.cchmc.org alerting us of any issues you have when testing/utilizing a module.
