We can use an Alert in Alerts & Notifications along with a File Upload Field to automatically send a PDF of a completed Survey.

1. Create a file upload field variable that will hold the PDF of your completed survey anywhere in your project

2. Enable External Module "Save Survey PDF to a Field Note: This same function now exists in Survey Settings under "Save a PDF of completed survey response to a File Upload field"

3. Configure the external module to save the survey upon completion into the file field created

In the online designer, select "survey settings" next to each consent instrument in your e-consent project

3. In survey settings, define which file upload field will save the consent file

4. Optional: 4. Create a radio variable to trigger for your alertyour alert.  You can also just trigger your alert on the eConsent form being complete. 

5. Create the alertan alert that will send the eConsent to HIM

6. Build your conditional logic

7.  Schedule the alert. Note: Rather than sending immediately, it is advisable to send the alert after 3 minutes or so to give time for REDCap to generate the PDF, otherwise it may not get included in the Alert.
